I enjoy resaling, but not just for the joy of going shopping, but out of necessity. Like most Americans, I have a limited budget and I decided log ago that my family does not always need new clothing. It is just as good, if not better, to do the "green" thing and save money at the same time and go resale-ing than it is to go to a mall. Resale-ing is good all the way around! You save the environment, you save money, and you provide very good non-profits with the funds they need to make the community a better place to live and help people out. I believe that being proactive and not allowing products containing lead is a good measure in regulating what our children are exposed to, but shutting down and industry that families rely on is seriously outstepping the boundaries in a very unstable economy. There are also non-profit businesses who I feel proud to help support when I shop at their store will not be able to provide the support that they need to because they will not be generating funds by selling used clothing. I also know that all of the used clothing will end up in a landfill, and to say that is eco-unfriendly goes without saying. I also want to be able to feel free to not only buy used children's clothing, but also sell it without retrobution. Unless the United States Government plans on providing lead detectors to all funtioning resale shops, I want this bill STOPPED NOW!!!
